Default I am a guild wars minority.

Ive been playing guild wars well over a year and I now realize that I truly am a Minority. I have no idea what a pocky or a naruto is. I ask if anyone rides BMX and I get replies about c++ (I dont know what that is) I ask if anyone listens to white zombie or anthrax and I get a million replies about yoshinorucanymatu origanifakigagapoopi and how she is the best singer ever.
Now I understand people are into different things but cmon! Somebody has to play sports! Im on my Varsity baseball team (Go Kennebunk Rams!) and whenever I ask about it they talk about sports like its beneath them. is anyone out there not into all this japanese hoohaw? What the hell is a kawaii? Man Im confused...

I've always found anime to be "childish" for it's cartoons...and 3/4ths of the time their all based off of the same plot....or have similar plots...

I'm really confused about the anime stuff. As in, I don't think I've seen any amount of anime reference in-game. On the forums, yeah, here and there, but not in-game. Must be hanging out with a different crowd. I do love anime, though, but not that Naruto crap.

As far as sports go, I love to watch a good game of, well just about everything. I don't play much, not anymore. I find my life is a little too busy for sports, what with all the Guild Wars playing I gotta squeeze in, lol.

And don't get me started on Metal... I grew up on Metal.

Naruto's an anime(Japanese animation) that has ninjas. The story's about a boy named Uzumaki Naruto and you follow him on his journey to be the hokage and to be recognized by his village. There is a monster that almost destroyed the city years ago sealed inside of him; thus, village citizens discriminate against him and ignore him, etc.
And the ninjas wear head plates like the sins in factions do..

Kawaii = cute (in japanese)

I'm into this japanese "hoohaw", but I'm also on the Varsity tennis team at my high school.. and I use to play bball in jr hs, but that's not saying much. I watch tennis, basketball, baseball, and football. And I root for James Blake, the Sacramento Kings, San Francisco Giants, and the Philly Eagles.

Perhaps it isn't really a 'minority'.

I think it's just that people who are interested in sports, music, and food tend to keep quiet about it.

I honestly don't get anime. Yay, a cartoon in japanese with people with large eyes. Hooray. It really gets stale after like 8 seasons of the same show.

Except Dragonball. How can anyone hate 24 straight episodes of one guy charging up and releasing one final blow only to find out he's not strong enough to take down the bad guy. Then the next 47 episodes are about the two combatents punching and dodging.

Classic.

Very, very few shows run over one season anyways. There's the 'kiddie cult classics' that span omgwtf kazillion seasons, and most of those are pure poo. Like Dragonball. o.=;

On the average, the shows run either 13 episodes or 26 episodes, rarely going past that point.

And to judge the whole genre by the drawing style or the fact it's 'just animation' is dumb, bit like watching one movie with real actors and judging all the other movies must be as bad as this one, especially if the movie was aimed for younger audiences.

Animatrix would prolly be good example. It's animation (save the one clip that was fully CG rendered) with more storytelling and interesting stuff (like Second Renaissance).

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is another action packed show, full of technobabble and politics, which would do as well as a real 'show' with real actors.

People just generalize stuff way too much

But, what it comes to gaming, I don't really shout out my 'interests' that much, sure, I like watching anime, I like reading manga, but I don't have the need to spam it out. I don't even push those japanese words on every sentence like some.. wierdos do. I blame Narutards and DBZ-kiddies, they give the whole scene a bad name

I hear ya! Speaking of, Inuyasha FTW!

I've loved Ghost in the Shell ever since I saw the first movie years ago. Shows like that, Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun are why I love anime.

There are some who watch anime and enjoy it, and some who are completely obsessed with anything animated that Japan produces. I'm not one to condone others for their lifestyle. People do what they want to do. Whatever works.

Heh dont worry, im with you too. Everyone in my guild love anime...I recently had a bad accident where i split my shin in half in a BMX accident and needed to be in a wheelchair for 2 weeks, crutches for 1 month and a brace for a couple of weeks. *sigh* they really didnt see the significance being to busy watching and listening to nuratio and bope kunangxayn <-lmao.

Dont listen to rob zombie though >.<. I like tool, rush, zepplin, well ect. ect.

/Edit: and oh i think some ppl might have hijacked your forum into a "lets discuss new episodes and season ect. lol Xp

White Zombie ftw!

I enjoy sports and most kinds of music. I can pretty much see both sides of this line you're talkin about and I enjoy stuff from both sides...

I ran track back in high school... I was in a bowling league on the weekends during that time.

I do watch a good amount of anime, but thats to keep me busy when theres nothing else to do.

I grew up on mainly classic rock and oldies (50's-70's mainly) from being in the car with my dad, but I do enjoy a lot of music.

What does that make me?
